Yorkshire Laser wins top exporting award
YORKSHIRE Laser and Fabrication has been recognised for its exporting excellence and quality of service at the inaugural Wakefield Manufacturing Awards.
The laser cutting specialist majors in boxes and brackets for the automotive, telecoms, medicinal and fire safety sectors. Yorkshire Laser won the Exporter of the Year Award for its innovative approach and design led service which add value to customer experience.
It follows Yorkshire Laser being shortlisted for The Manufacturer MX Awards, which will be announced in Liverpool, later this month.
Yorkshire Laser recently won a contract to manufacture boxes for a pioneering fire detection system, the EXXFire. It is made in the Netherlands and sold to customers including Siemens and the European Space Agency, (ESA). It is enabling the Normanton based business, is continuing to grow its laser cutting and fabrication reputation around the globe.
The judges were particularly impressed by the fact that Yorkshire Laser can take a basic brief and bring it to life for customers by using their design and development skills to enhance and improve the product.
Matt Orford, MD, of the firm, which was established by his father, Orford in the 1970s said: “Yorkshire Laser has always been proud of its reputation and strives to provide high quality services and products. Winning this award is a boost for everyone in the team.”
